Water conservation is more important than ever since North Carolina is still in the midst of the worst drought in our state’s history.

Gov. Mike Easley is calling on elementary school students to help promote water conservation by entering a contest to name the new mascot for the state’s drought education campaign.

North Carolina’s mascot for water conservation will be featured on drought education materials and featured prominently on the state’s official drought education Web site, www.savewaternc.org.
